A new star is born: HYMER’s StarLine is built on Mercedes-Benz.

At the end of May 2011 Europe's most successful HYMER B-Class motorhome model range is to be enhanced by the Hymermobil StarLine: the market leader from Bad Waldsee has built a B-Class model with extensive standard features on a Mercedes-Benz chassis. A total of six StarLine models, four of them with a double floor, will be presented. Prices start from 80,990 euros.

No matter whether you are spending a few days in the Alps or touring Tuscany for several weeks – thanks to the new chassis motorhome travellers will ride in even greater comfort and, above all, safety. “Passive safety components like the standard safety package, cruise control, converter-automatic transmission, Bi-Xenon headlights with static curve light and the high panoramic windshield take the strain out of driving”, as Product Manager Rainer Wingart notes. “We also conducted joint tests with Mercedes and really put the HYMER B-Class StarLine through its paces. Full braking, high-speed swerving and cornering on wet rainy roads were on the agenda and StarLine passed every discipline with flying colours”.

Aside from the safety package, the new B-Class model has an astounding range of standard features. On the stylish smooth aluminium and Carrara white model versions, for instance, suspended electrically heated adjustable wide-angle wing mirrors are fitted in the same colour as the vehicle. The driver's cab has electric window lifts, illuminated entry and an electric step with dirt trap which extends automatically when the door is opened. The comfort entry door is fitted with a fly roller blind, window and electric double step. Large garage doors on both sides of the vehicle ease packing and stowing. Variously sized roof vents in clear and frosted glass, and in a panoramic version, each with a darkening pleated shade and mosquito roller blind, are fitted as standard over the rear bed, in the bathroom and in the living area. A concertina darkening system for the driver's cab, awning light with rain shield, customised light fittings and a choice of several high quality upholstery fabrics are also included.

The large tanks for fresh and waste water with a capacity of 175 and 145 litres respectively, the 150 litre-refrigerator with integrated freezer compartment and increased storage space, for instance under the L-shaped seating area, or the flexible drawer system of the kitchen units all add up to greater independence on the road. Additional storage space is supplied by a stowing height of 125 millimetres on the double floor which at the same time guarantees the frost-proof storage of tanks and technical components with optimum weight distribution and consequently maximum driving comfort.

Living comfort is always top priority at HYMER, too. High quality seat upholstery and curtains and the cosy L-shaped seating area with the 360°-rotating luxury table create a homely atmosphere in the new flagship model. The optimum bodywork and insulation qualities of the patented PUAL wall construction system also generate a pleasant ambience. In the sleeping area, HYMER not only presents the easy-access extra-large fold-down bed but also, for instance an optional height-adjustable rear double bed. StarLine also scores highly in the bathroom area: The sunken shower tray provides even more standing height.

The larger models are built on the twin-tyre MB-Sprinter 516 chassis with 163 hp and a total mass of 5.0 tonnes. The smaller models feature a MB-Sprinter 316 chassis with a permissible total mass of 4.2 tonnes and also 163 hp. Both model ranges can be equipped with 190 hp engines, converter-automatic transmissions and 100 litre fuel tanks.
