In the "Motorhomes of 2004" poll carried out by promobil, Europe´s largest motorhome magazine, Hymer motorhomes, which were entered in six of the eight categories, achieved top placings in each. Hymer won three first places, one second and one third place as a result of the marks awarded by about 20,000 active motorhome owners.
With the integral motorhomes costing up to 100,000 euros, the Hymermobil B-Class, won first place for the 15th time in a row with 28.5 % of the votes, as it has done since 1990. In the alcoves costing up to 50,000 euros category, the Hymer C-Class won with 30.2 % of the votes cast and in the alcoves of more than 50,000 euros category the Hymer C-Class GT (21.2 %) was voted into first place.
In the integrated motorhomes costing more than 100,000 euros, the Hymermobil S-Class (30.5 %) secured second place. With the partially integrated vehicles costing up to 50,000 euros the Hymer Exsis, which only came onto the market in September, won third place with 26.9 % of the votes at its first attempt.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the Hymer Exsis also took first place in the survey of camping buses carried out by the specialist Caravaning magazine from the same publisher, with 32.9 %. In the Caravan of the Year poll, the Eriba Moving 620 was awarded second place in the luxury caravans category with 18 %.With this outstanding success, Hymer in Bad Waldsee has demonstrated once more that it is not only European market leader in the caravaning industry because of its wide range - i.e. in terms of quantity - but also in terms of quality.
Hymer marketing manager, Ursula Ruppe, was delighted and said: "This fantastic result for our vehicles shows that the Hymer philosophy, as a trend setter giving priority to safety, innovative technology as well as functional internal fittings and appealing ambience with attractive design, is proving very popular with customers.
"The success of the Hymer leisure vehicles is based not least on almost 50 years´ experience of producing caravans and motorhomes. The secret of this success is, amongst other things, the constant effort of the Hymer technicians to do justice to state of the art technology: And so all Hymer motorhomes are fitted as standard with ABS and, the majority of them with ASR. Hymer is the only manufacturer which can install driver and passenger air bags in integrated motorhomes on Mercedes Benz chassis. Hymer set a trend when introducing the double floor design, produces its bodies with its patented Hymer PUAL technology and uses a particularly trendsetting adhesive technology in its lightweight design.
Because of this Hymer was the first manufacturer in the industry to give a 6-year water ingress warranty for the bodies - and has been doing this for almost 20 years! In 1995 Hymer was the first leisure vehicle manufacturer to be certified under the comprehensive quality management system DIN ISO 9001 and this still applies in accordance with the latest standards of DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
