When buying a motorhome, camper van or urban vehicle (hereafter: motorhome), it is particularly important to choose the right layout and an appealing design. In addition, weight also plays an essential role. Family, friends, optional equipment, accessories and baggage – space must be available for all of these. At the same time, there are legal and technical limits to the configuration and load. Every motorhome is designed for a certain weight, which may not be exceeded during driving. For motorhome buyers, this raises the question: How should I configure my vehicle to accommodate passengers, baggage and accessories according to my needs without the vehicle exceeding this maximum weight? In order to make this decision easier for you, we provide you below with a few tips that are particularly important when selecting your vehicle from our portfolio:

Due to manufacturing tolerances, the actual weighed mass in running order may deviate from the value stated above. Deviations of up to ± 5 % of the mass in running order are legally permissible and possible. The permissible range in kilograms is given in brackets after the mass in running order.  The manufacturer-specified mass for optional equipment is a calculated value for each type and layout that HYMER uses to determine the maximum weight available for factory-fitted optional equipment.                 • Active Distance Assist including multifunction steering wheel keys

                  DISTRONIC PLUS Driving Assist (including Active Brake Assist) helps to keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front - and brakes automatically in an emergency. It minimises the risks of short safety distances, abrupt traffic stops or inattention.
                • On the kitchen extension in the HYMER Grand Canyon S, there is bread. In the background, the kitchenette with stove, sink, and refrigerator is visible.

                  Soft closing and safe handling

                  All kitchen drawers are equipped with roller bearings for ultra-smooth action. They feature high-quality Soft close mechanisms and one-handed push-locks that prevent the drawers from opening and rattling when the vehicle is on the move.

                  The PUAL-foamed walls with aluminium inner and outer skin are an important component of the vehicle’s durable high-tech bodywork. The excellent insulation of the closed-cell PU foam guarantees pleasant temperatures throughout the year and low gas consumption in winter.

                  The interior lighting throughout the vehicle features LED technology as standard. This cuts energy consumption by 75% and gives you hours of extra battery life. Since LEDs don’t get hot, this also improves fire and accident safety.

                  The 7 inch touch display enables convenient control and monitoring of important vehicle functions and components. From the charge status of the body battery, the display of the fresh and grey water tanks to the heating control.

                • Additional garage flap

                  For an even easier loading and unloading, the rear garage is also accessible via an additional LH exterior locker door. The door measures 75 x 85 cm.

                  The multifunctional rear lights include LED hybrid technology and a signature design featuring the three bars of the HYMER logo – and provide excellent visibility even in challenging conditions.

                  The concertina cab blinds made from a premium pleated fabric protect you from prying eyes and excessive sunlight during summer time.

                  The fuel-saving 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission does away with manual gear shifting and ensures smooth gear shifts. When necessary, simply press the brake pedal to activate the HOLD function which stops the vehicle from rolling forward at traffic lights or in stop-and-go traffic.

                  The semi-automatic climate control TEMPMATIC ensures a pleasant temperature inside the vehicle. The system simultaneously dehumidifies the air, which prevents misting of the windows from inside. In addition, an integrated particle filter protects against pollen and dust.

                  An electrically lowerable double bed with cold foam mattress can be installed above the seating area (depending on the layout) to provide a comfortable additional berth for two people. When the lowerable bed is in its raised position, there’s adequate standing room underneath it. The vehicle’s total height is not increased by the bed.

                  The innovative HYMER comfort sleeping system with integrated disc spring system makes the most of its aadvantages. Each part of the body is supported with precisely the right amount of counter-pressure - for a comfortable, restful night's sleep.

                  There’s room in the spacious and comfortable L-shaped seating area, which has lounge cushions and a large table that can be moved lengthways and crossways.
