The new Mercedes Sprinter offers an outstanding road performance thanks to the high engine power that is part of its standard specification. A significant safety advantage is ensured by the numerous automotive assistance systems, i.e. Crosswind Assist, Active Brake Assist and DISTRONIC Active Distance Control. Further features include standard driver and passenger airbags, while keyless starting and automatic headlights ensure much greater driving comfort. From a visual perspective, both the ML-T and Grand Canyon S echo the Mercedes-Benz design vocabulary, presenting a correspondingly modern look. The new exterior is further enhanced by the new decals in the HYMER and a modified additional sticker in the HYMERCAR. The cockpit of the ML-T and Grand Canyon S offers numerous storage surfaces and presents a harmonious overall look with an automotive feel. For a more individualised interior, there is a choice of two wood-effect furniture finishes for the ML-T, while the Grand Canyon S impresses with its familiar pale wood design and new floor in a subtle, coordinating shade of grey.
Extensive standard equipment and optional extras
In addition to its visual upgrade, the ML-T also boasts an extensive new standard equipment package. In addition to the GRP lightweight floor and insulated fresh and waste water tanks with a capacity of 120 and 100 litres respectively, it also comes with a roomy garage with doors on both sides. Complementing these features is a wide range of optional extras, including a sliding shelf for gas bottles, the innovative HYMER Smart Battery System and the powerful 3-litre 190 hp V6 engine to name but a few.
The Grand Canyon S, too, incorporates numerous highlights as standard, including TEMPMATIC air conditioning, Crosswind Assist and cruise control, not to mention the pull-out bathroom fittings with outdoor shower function. The HYMERCAR offers a similarly broad range of optional extras, allowing the Grand Canyon S to be upgraded with the HYMER Smart Battery System or 7G Tronic automatic transmission, for example – including in the optional four-wheel drive version. Here too, those with sportier tastes can opt for a higher engine power of up to 190 hp.
Christian Bauer, Managing Director of Hymer GmbH & Co. KG., says: “Both the continuous improvement of existing model ranges and the expectations of our customers in terms of premium quality are critical to our entrepreneurial activity. That’s why we took the opportunity to equip the popular ML-T motorhome and the HYMERCAR Grand Canyon S with the new Mercedes Benz Sprinter as a base vehicle. The upgrade has been applied consistently from the design through the bodywork to the technical equipment of the vehicles”.
The new Mercedes Sprinter-based HYMER M-LT (in four layout variants) and HYMERCAR Grand Canyon S will be available from dealers from September 2018.
