Two wins for Hymer at the iF Design Award

04/30/2024
  • Hymer wins two of the prestigious iF Design Awards in 2024.
  • The self-sufficiency concept of the Hymer Grand Canyon S and the Eriba Touring Colour Editions impress the jury in the Automobiles/Vehicles category.
  • The awards were accepted yesterday evening at the iF Design Award Night.

With their striking designs and innovative ideas for greater comfort and sustainability, the top-of-the-range Hymer Grand Canyon S model and Eriba Touring Colour Editions are hits with both customers and the automotive industry alike. At yesterday’s iF Award Night in Berlin, the jury of the renowned iF Design Award was also impressed and gave the motorhome expert two reasons to celebrate: the design of the Hymer Grand Canyon S, which is all about independent travel, took home one of the coveted awards in the “Automobiles/Vehicles” category. The eye-catching Eriba Touring Colour Editions also impressed the jury on the night and likewise received an award.

The iF Design Award is one of the most important design awards in the world. In an evaluation process lasting several days, 132 independent, leading design experts assessed over 10,800 entries in a wide range of disciplines.

The design of the vehicles was assessed on the basis of the five criteria of idea, form, function, differentiation and impact. Both models did particularly well on account of their innovative design and aesthetics. The Eriba Touring Colour Editions also benefited from the assessment that their design made them truly stand out from the competition. The Hymer Grand Canyon S was praised by the jury for its independent, self-sufficient travel concept in particular.

Christian Bauer, President of Hymer GmbH & Co. KG, says: “Innovation, function and quality have always been our top priorities. Our well thought-out and future-oriented product design fully reflects these central aspirations of Hymer and Eriba. The fact that we won not one, but two iF Design Awards this year underscores our expertise and our success as a leading supplier in the premium motorhoming segment. I would like to congratulate all of the teams involved at Hymer and Eriba as well as our design partner STUDIOSYN. The award recognises their dedication and creativity.”

The Eriba Touring’s new colours: who knew retro could look so fresh?

The Eriba Touring Colour Editions have given the design of the Eriba Touring cult caravan a complete makeover. The traditional model with its highly characteristic, aerodynamic body shape, which has been in production for over 60 years, is available in a choice of three different vibrant colours: the “Nugget Gold”, “Tango Red” and “Harbour Blue” special models combine the authentic retro look of the caravan with a modern twist – true to the Eriba slogan “Anything but ordinary”.

Designed for a self-sufficient travel experience: the Hymer Grand Canyon S

Thanks to its digital control system, the latest edition of the Grand Canyon S camper van model is not only a true “smart home” on wheels, but is also setting new standards in independent and sustainable travel on account of its improved built-in concept. The Hymer lithium Smart Battery system guarantees a long-lasting power supply, while the 90-litre compressor refrigerator and diesel heater allow campers to be largely independently of gas on their travels. When it comes to comfort and design, however, the Grand Canyon S is also truly impressive: inspired by the exclusive Hymer Venture S off-roader, premium panels on the windows and doors, a new four-level lighting concept with individually adjustable light temperature as well as two new interior design style collections ensure that the camper van feels comfortable and homely inside.
